Meet Dr. Elza Vasconcellos

Dr. Vasconcellos specializes in Child Neurology and Headache Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed fellowships in Epilepsy, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Child Neurology. Dr. Vasconcellos also completed residencies in Pediatrics and Child Neurology. She is certified in Headache Medicine and board certified in Neurology with special qualification in Child Neurology.

Dr. Vasconcellos has been honored with many awards: “MD Pride Certificate of Excellence” from Miami Children’s Hospital; “Best of the Best” scientific presentation from The American Academy of Neurology; “First Prize Senior Level” from The Cleveland Foundation; “American Epilepsy Society Young Investigator Award”; “The James True Martin Award” from The Department of Neurology, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She has published many articles, abstracts and book chapters in her field. She is a nationally and international recognized speaker.
